Selle San Marco Aspide Supercomfort Racing Saddle

The Aspide Supercomfort is a new version of one of the most iconic recent additions to the Selle San Marco range. The hole has been reshaped to make it bigger and increase the relief zone for perineum pressure.

The level of variable density padding has been increased too and the Racing versions feature the gel layer and the openwork processing technique to the cover. The Aspide Supercomfort is available in narrow and wide versions to ensure a perfect fit and maximum comfort.

An innovative system of shock absorption and vibration dampening ensure increased all round comfort.

XSILITE RAILS

It is a material with a high percentage of silicon with particles of titanium and carbon. Light and strong, it turns out to be resistant to all weather conditions. The process through the stealth technology ensures a better strength against fatigue stress.

CARBON FIBER REINFORCED SHELL

Nylon with high properties, enriched with a high proportion of long carbon fibre, in order to reinforce the characteristics of rigidity, stiffness and durability without compromising the weight.

BIOFOAM PLUS + GEL

Biodynamic structure that follows the movements of the pelvis during pedalling, guarantees comfort, reduced weight, lasting resistance and ideal support. The “closed cells” surface ensures water is repelled from the padding. Slightly heavier than on our standard Biofoam, with an thin layer of gel under the cover.

MICROFEEL COVER

Breathable and hard wearing cover. It is lighter than traditional materials and less deformable. Anti-skid effect with an extraordinary grip on the saddle. Biocompatible material.

NEW ERGONOMY

The perfect balance between the support and relief zone. The “big hole” helps maintain comfort under pressure and offers day long support and comfort. The central relief zone is long enough to work in all riding positions and the structural stability bridge prevents unwanted flex and twist.

Performance saddles are narrower than the models designed for shorter ride comfort. They’re intended for riders who have a committed riding style with weight on hands and feet so they’re narrower and lighter. High tech padding materials and flexible body designs keep your pressure points comfortable and lightweight chassis components keep the weight down. Most have some kind of ergonomic design to reduce pressure on nerves and allow unrestriced blood flow to your sensitive areas. Womens models have a wider design to suit their naturally wider pelvis. Saddle widths vary across the ranges from narrow (upto 130mm), medium (upto 138mm) to wide (upto 146mm). Narrower saddles are the popular choice for longer distance riders as they do not cause the hips to be placed in an unnatural position. Wider saddles will often feel comfortable initially due to their greater surface area but then progressively decrease in comfort as the miles increase, the correct choice of saddle is a case of getting the balance between initial comfort and overall comfort.
